Thank you to all the athletes who represented the Country at Stowe School in the South Of England Inter Counties Championships.
The magnificent setting provided courtesy of both Stowe School and The National Trust, also provided a superb hilly cross country course which tested the athletes, not helped by a strong wind in exposed parts of the course.
The leading individuals for Bedfordshire were Nicola Sykes who won convincingly in the U17 ladies, matching her individual success in the same race last year. Sarah Simpson running as a first year U15 gained an excellent 4th position, as did her club mate Perry Howarth in the U15 boys.
The other top ten finisher was Terry Stanley, who finished a very good 8th in the U17 men's race, leading home the county team into 3rd place (photo), backed very strongly by Andrew Inskip, James Murray and Craig Watkins.
